How does Potable measure its temperatures?

For beverages to be considered. "Ice Cold," they must have a temperature reading of between 32.1 degrees Fahrenheit (just above freezing) and 40 degrees Fahrenheit.

Potable's Dual Wave: Odyssey 40 oz. Tumbler was filled with ice, topped off with tap water, and the lid was then closed. After one hour the temperature of the water read 32.7 degrees Fahrenheit. After 42 hours, the water temperature read 33.9 degrees Fahrenheit, with a chunk of ice remaining in the water. The test was done indoors at a constant room temperature of 72 degrees Fahrenheit.

For beverages to be considered, "Hot," they will have a reading of between 130 and 160 degrees Fahrenheit. Consuming beverages above 160 degrees Fahrenheit poses a burn hazard and is not recommended. 39 oz. of 160 degree Fahrenheit water was sealed in a Potable Dual Wave: Odyssey 40 oz. Tumbler. After 13 hours, the temperature of the water read 130 degrees Fahrenheit. The test was done indoors at a constant room temperature of 72 degrees Fahrenheit.
